SIA: Snowy cloud

It’s time again for another Style Imitating Art (SIA) challenge, this go-round curated by Erin @ Loop Looks.

SIA inspiration

Erin chose this photo because it reflects her world right now, Chicago under a blanket of snow. And this “Cloud Gate” sculpture — affectionally known as “The Bean” — is an iconic and public artwork in the city’s Millennium Park. You can read more about the sculpture’s history here.

Lots of neutral colors to play with in this inspiration photo and sculpture, including grey, white, black, and a bit of brownish olive in the patches not covered in snow. And maybe accessorize with some shiny jewelry or metallic shoes?

Erin’s inspiration pick also reminds me of when we met up in real life the last time I was in Chicago, back in 2013 — and we walked to Millennium Park and took a selfie in The Bean’s reflective surface! 🙂

How to participate in SIA:

Everyone — bloggers, non-bloggers, all genders, all ages, even pets! — is welcome to participate in SIA challenges. Just send a pic of an outfit — selfies and flat lays are also welcome — inspired by this week’s SIA artwork to this week’s curator, Erin at, by next Tuesday, Feb. 20th, to be included in the round-up on her blog, Loop Looks.

Can’t wait to see what y’all are inspired to wear!

  1. Is This Mutton?

Yay – I’ve got my photos ready for this one! We went to Chicago in 2008 and took the inevitable selfies but they didn’t come out too well. Great choice by Erin.
