SIA: Dogs playing poker

It’s time for another Style Imitating Art (SIA) challenge! This week, my fellow SIA co-hosts, Erin @ Loop Looks and Salazar @ 14 Shades of Grey, swapped turns… which means Salazar chose this week’s inspiration painting. And it is an AWESOME and fun choice!

The inspiration artwork:

Because the Lunar New Year festival is coming up, and it’s the Year of the Dog, Salazar wanted artwork featuring dogs. She finally settled on “A Bold Bluff,” one of the paintings in C. M. Coolidge’s “Dogs Playing Poker” series. (Did you know that it was a series?! Read all about its fascinating history here.)

It’s kitschy and bold with lots of color — and a variety of options for fun prints or props! (I’m realllllly hoping both Salazar and Erin get to pose with their dogs!)

How to to participate in SIA?

It’s easy! Everyone — bloggers, non-bloggers, all genders, all ages, even pets! — is welcome to participate. Just send a pic of an outfit — selfies and flat lays are also just fine — inspired by this week’s SIA artwork to this week’s curator, Salazar, at by next Tuesday, Feb. 6th. Salazar will then post the SIA round-up on her blog, 14 Shades of Grey, on Feb. 7th.

Can’t wait to see what y’all come up with! 😀
