SIA: Angel mask

It’s time again for another Style Imitating Art (SIA) challenge, this time curated by Erin @ Loop Looks.

SIA inspiration pick:

This 1939 gouache painting is titled “Angel Applicant” and created by artist Paul Klee. You can read more about the painting here on the Met’s site.

Erin picked this painting for two main reasons:

  1. The description referred to this painting as a cross between bulldog and a Halloween mask — and since it’s getting close to Halloween, it’s a great thematic tie-in!
  2. Erin has really been into greys and blacks lately, and it’s a nice break from the past few colorful SIA choices we’ve had recently.

How to participate in SIA:

Everyone — bloggers, non-bloggers, all genders, all ages, even pets! — is welcome to participate in SIA challenges. Just send a pic of an outfit — selfies and flat lays are also just fine — inspired by this week’s SIA artwork to this week’s curator, Erin at looplooks@gmail.com, by Tuesday, October 24th to be included in the round-up on the 25th on her blog, Loop Looks.

Can’t wait to see what y’all are inspired to wear!
