Wonder Woman casual outfit for the Tacoma Festival of Sail

A couple of weeks ago, my husband and I enjoyed an outing to the Festival of Sail which blew into Tacoma for a weekend. Tacoma is one of only a handful of Pacific ports that hosts the historic ships, and the weekend festivities included ship tours, day sails, entertainment, free admission to the Working Waterfront Maritime Museum, and “The World’s Largest Rubber duck.” (Warning: This is another photo-heavy post!)

First up, having fun on the boats:

As I knew we would be walking a lot up and down the waterfront in Tacoma and getting into and out of boats all day, I dressed comfy. (But then, when do I not?) These metallic sandals are the most comfortable sandals I own, with rubber soles that would be ready for any slippery surfaces. My new Wonder Woman tee came next, and then the rest of the outfit was based on incorporating shades of red, navy, and black to go with the Wonder Woman theme. #WonderWomanAlways

The last bit of my outfit was this checkered fedora that I borrowed from Sam, because (a) it went so well with the rest of my outfit, and (b) it kept both the early morning drizzle and the later afternoon sunshine off my face. 😀

And if you’re wondering, “Is that a huge yellow rubber ducky out there in the harbor?” the answer is YES. You’re not hallucinating! As part of the Festival of Sail, we enjoyed the company of a huge yellow rubber ducky. It was awesome! The ducky is one of several designed by Dutch artist Florentijn Hofman and stands roughly five stories tall.

So OF COURSE Sam and I had to have some fun with such a wonderful photo opportunity! 😀

And the closer we got to the rubber ducky by walking down the waterfront, the better the photo opportunities! 😀

What a fun event! I love the giant rubber ducky too – we had something similar here for the great Brisbane duck race, incredible how big it was! The ships would have been very fun to play on, and your casual yet practical outfit was just perfect 🙂

Hope you are having a wonderful weekend!

Thanks, Patti! Right next to the “Lady Washington” ship was a smaller one called “Martha.” So I joked that they had TWO “Lady Washingtons” in the line-up. A Festival of Sail volunteer overheard me and burst out laughing! 😀 😀 😀

What a fun outing. I laughed when I got to the pictures of the rubber ducky. 🙂 Love the wonder woman tank and hat styled with those red ankle pants! Thank you for linking up with Fabulous Friday.
