Returning to a favorite combo | Fit-and-flare dress + cardigan

When I am really tired — and these past few weeks have been exhausting at work, because of so many projects to wrap up! — I often go back through my archives and rewear or remix past outfits. Yes, I use my own outfit galleries! 🙂

One such outfit I recently came across was this combo from April 2015, and back then, I had only been able to take flat lay pics of the outfit, rather than full outfit photos, as seen below. (I’m sure it had been raining.) It’s an outfit combo I wear again and again, a fit-and-flare dress under a cardigan.

My blogger pal Erin @ Loop Looks had left a comment at the time, “I’d love to see a full body shot of that one.” So here ya go, Erin! I did follow up on your request — even if it just took me two years to do it! 😉

The first time I wore this dress-and-cardigan combo, I paired it with my small silver hoops with black pearls. This time, I wore my new shiva shell earrings, to bring more lightness to my face. Plus, I thought the swirly bit in the earrings echoed the polka dot design.

I also wore a light berry lip stain to tie in with the berry cardigan. Every time I wear this cardigan, I get compliments because of the color. It’s definitely become one of my go-to colors.

The backdrop for these photos is against our side fence and gate, where our lilac trees are. In the pics below, you can see both the white and purple lilacs blooming in the trees.

And I just love this last pic, with the lilac blossoms and the ray of sunshine glinting off my sunglasses. It sums up how I feel about our recent weather! 😀

Lovely outfit! The berry color is very pretty. There is something to be said about tried and true outfit combinations that work and are comforting to fall back on..
