Everyday faves series
This is the latest entry in my now-monthly series about “Everyday faves,” to highlight everyday, or commonplace, things — or practices or habits — that make a difference in my life. For me, these posts are an exercise in self-reflection and appreciation.
Posts in the series have included:
- Better bobby pins
- Building time into my daily schedule for reading,
- My love of travel-sized stain sticks
- Daily hair routine with dry shampoo paste
- Thinking about my favorite thing that happened each day
- A look inside my medicine cabinet
Static Guard spray
For this entry, I’d like to highlight my love of static spray.
I have had at least one canister of Static Guard spray for as long as I can remember. Battling a build-up of static electricity and static cling is an almost daily battle, but it’s particularly bad in the winter.
How I’ve managed to keep the static cling at bay is by spraying Static Guard on my clothes, inside and out, in the morning. I also spray it inside any hat I’ll be wearing that day, so as not to find my hair standing on end when I take off my hat. I’ll even spray it on scarves.
One tip: I make sure to spray my clothes in a well-ventilated area.
And sometimes I still have issues with static cling when I’m at work or out and about. That’s why I have a travel-sized bottle of Static Guard! I am prepared, y’all. 😉
I have at least two canisters at home at any given time (one in the bathroom downstairs and one in my closet upstairs) and one mini-canister in my purse organizer. I buy in multiples because I have found it hard sometimes to track down Static Guard spray at the store. Sometimes, it’s in the laundry detergent aisle, sometimes it’s in the closet aisle (like with hangers and clothespins and laundry garment bags), and sometimes it’s only available in the aisle for travel-sized products. They keep moving it around! But I always manage to find it in the end. 🙂
Do you use Static Guard or another type of method to combat static cling? Please leave a comment and share!
