Continuing in the posts this week of highlighting favorites… now time for YOUR favorites this past year! (And one final chance to vote for your favorite outfit of mine from December — tomorrow I’ll be posting my annual retrospective of the 2016 monthly favorites.)
Below are the most popular posts from 2016, the ones that got the most views all throughout last year. As I usually publish five posts a week, and I am going on 4+ years of blogging, I do have a LOT of archives, so it means a lot to me that older posts are still going strong. I also am pleased that the posts below also reflect a wide range of topics and types of posts on this style blog.
Let’s start from the top!
It’s AMAZING to me that for two years straight, this post from December 2014 has consistently racked up views all year long. I really had NO IDEA this post would be so popular when I first put it together. It just seemed like a fun post to do and a different kind of “what to wear” post. And yes, I have recently updated the shopping links to highlight new items for this post. 😀
This casual work outfit post from 2012 (!) surprised me by landing in the top 2 slot for 2016! I think it’s so high because of the focus on this obi-style belt I made from two vintage ties — this photo is still one of my top-pinned pics on Pinterest.
This post, published in November 2014, again surprised me a little by placing in the top 10 for the second year in a row. Who knew my bandage dress review would prove so popular?! I think it’s also because this post was featured on The Kewl Shop website.
#5: Galleries 2016
This isn’t technically a post — again, it’s a page — but I still wanted to include it on this list. It makes me feel smile that my Galleries section consistently draws views, as it’s an easy way to get to know my style — and easier for me to see themes and patterns in my style. 🙂
My monthly budget adventures continue to get hits, and in January’s post, I documented my search to replace my black skinny jeans. Throughout the year, I’ve focused more and more on replacing items and thrifting rather than constantly buying new items every month. I also continue to get traffic from Fran’s Budgeting Bloggers monthly linkup.
An outfit post from early 2016, and I still LOVE this bold combo of my eShakti houndstooth-print dress and red lipstick. It’s also fun to see my bobbed bangs hairstyle from last year!
This sewing post from summer 2015 didn’t get many views or comments at the time I published it, but its longevity is a nice surprise. It reminds me that I need to do more sewing-themed posts!
I was really pleased to see this post from this past spring make the top 10 for the year! It’s a pretty straightforward post — and the title is simple and descriptive — and it inspired quite a bit of continued discussion and comments.
#10: No foolin’ for outtakes | Upcoming blogiversary series + gift card GIVEAWAY
Yay, an outtakes post made the top 10 for 2016! As I do outtakes-themed post at least 3 times a year — for New Year’s in January, for my blog anniversary in April, and for my birthday in August — I was super pleased that this blogiversary outtakes post made the cut. 😀
