SIA round-up: Vogue peacock

It’s time for this week’s Style Imitating Art (SIA) round-up! I chose a vintage Vogue cover, from November 1909, featuring a peacock scene in shades of grey, black, white, and orange.

First up is SIA co-host Erin @ Loop Looks! I love her modern, casual take on the inspiration artwork, with the different shades of grey up top and the cognac boots on bottom. You can’t tell from this photo, but her earrings are in the shape of feathers! 😀

Next is Rabbit Style News, who wore a new grey dress — very classy! She added a necklace with round rhinestones as a very clever nod to the peacock feather eyes.

Kezzie from KezzieAG shows off this gorgeous charcoal embroidered dress that she recently thrifted for £2 (wow!). The cascading ruffles of Kezzie’s cardigan also echo the peacock’s tail. Perfect!

SIA co-host and co-founder Salazar @ 14 Shades of Grey went for a minimalist approach, pairing her soft grey trousers with a subtly patterned button-front top (see her post for closeups). She added the necklace to mimic the circle behind the peacock, a nice touch.

And lastly, my interpretation. I went for monochromatic grey with a pop of orange and polka dots in the ribbon belt. You can see more details in yesterday’s post.

Once again, such a varied round-up of inspiration outfits! Thank you all for a lovely display of inspirational plumage! 😉

Next week, SIA co-host Erin @ Loop Looks will be choosing the next SIA challenge. Stay tuned!
