Stripes + bicycle paths | Late summer casual

One final note that the poll is still open to vote for your favorite outfit of mine from August — thanks in advance!

Another casual late summer outfit! With bonus stripes + outtakes! 😀 I wore this outfit to a casual lunch out with a new colleague, before the fall term started.

I almost didn’t take photos of this outfit, as it is VERY casual. But it’s proof that (a) I do wear casual outfits, (b) I wore it, so why not put it on the blog?, and (c) remixing is real life. I have worn this black-and-white striped top a LOT this summer, last seen on the blog here. The bonus stripes come into play via the tuxedo stripe of black running down my jeans (it’s always hard to photograph these jeans, as the denim is so dark), plus the stripe-y effect of the strappy sandals.

The bicycle paths I refer to in the post title are actually on my head scarf — or is it a bandanna? Bandannas were trending this summer, so let’s say it’s a bandanna! 😉 Regardless, I came across this bandanna while packing for our move — it came free in a Portland neighborhood welcome kit, and I had totally forgotten about it! It’s a practical accessory, with a map of bicycle paths in and around Portland, which is a very bike-friendly American city. It’s also a fun way for me to remember our time in Portland. 🙂

The scarf also helped give my casual outing a slight sporty edge.

And I promised bonus outtakes — below is proof of when action shots go WRONG! Sometimes, I will ask Sam to put the camera on the sports setting to try and get some shots in action — like when I’m walking or jumping or twirling — and usually, there are 1 or 2 good shots in the batch. Not so this time! All outtakes! 😀

I’m glad you shared this look–I feel like this is the kind of look I find myself wearing on repeat too. You can never go wrong with a striped top! And that scarf is adorable–I need to get better about finding new ways to wear my scarves!
