SIA: Rescued art

It’s time for another Style Imitating Art (SIA) challenge, and it’s Erin’s turn to curate. Her choice has a very interesting backstory: she rescued this painting from the dumpster in her building! The back of the painting, “The Door Within,” had the name of the artist,  Jean Fetman, from Highland Park, IL. Erin also found Fetman’s obituary online here.

I like the idea that Fetman’s artistry is also memorialized here through this challenge. Isn’t it a small world at times? 🙂

Isn’t it a gorgeous painting? I can see why Erin rescued it! For the SIA challenge, there are lots of bright colors to choose from or mix together, and you can definitely go for colorblocking! 🙂

Participating in SIA challenges is simple — just take a photo of an outfit inspired by this week’s artwork. Send it to this week’s curator, Erin at by next Monday, August 22. Erin will then post the round-up on her blog, Loop Looks.
