Greetings from Tacoma | Red dress + orange gingham

Greetings from Tacoma! I wore this casual day dress combo of red + orange gingham on the day we drove up to Tacoma to sign the closing documents for our new home. Since then, my life has been all about packing, loading, unloading, and unpacking.

But before all that sweat, this summer outfit just looked fiery with its red and orange color combo. Hah! 😉

And I think we can all agree that my bangs are reaching Conan O’Brien heights. I am okay with this. 😉

From my de facto capsule collection, my metallic sandals, topaz drop earrings, and yellow tote bag showcased their MVP status!

I have combined red and orange together several times before! Here are other ways I’ve mixed red with my orange gingham button-front shirt:

We haven’t seen much of Tacoma yet… we’re just now really coming out from under all the boxes and figuring out places to put things and organize things. But it is spoiled for natural beauty, out on Puget Sound and Mount Rainier. There’s even a park, Point Defiance, right on the tip of the city, with several trails and panoramic views. The natural beauty is quite stunning. And there are several street murals around, so I’m excited to scout out potential photo backdrops! 🙂

I’d love to see a photo tour of the new house once you get it all settled!

I always forget that gingham is orange because it just works so well with the red. I guess because I forget that things can be orange and not be BRIGHT traffic cone orange 🙂

Yes, that’s right, you don’t like orange! I don’t particularly like orange, either, but Sam has convinced me to add more orange tones into my wardrobe — he even picked out this gingham top! But surprisingly, I LOVE orange when it comes to our home decor… reminds me of when you pointed out that even though I don’t like to wear pale pink, I chose it as the background color of my style blog! 😀
