SIA: René Lalique brooch

It’s Style Imitating Art (SIA) time again! This week, Salazar @ 14 Shades of Grey is curating, and she chose a gorrrrrrrrrrrgeous brooch by French artist René Lalique. This “Dragonfly Lady” brooch, ca. 1897-98, was presented at the 1900 Paris Universal Exhibition in 1900, as part of Lalique’s art nouveau jewelry collection.

I’m thinking of something incorporating gold, mint, and black… and some interesting jewelry? I love art nouveau designs, and this brooch is so stunning. And I love that this is, I think, the second piece of jewelry we’ve had for an SIA inspiration (also see here). 🙂

As always, all are welcome to participate in SIA challenges! You don’t have to be a blogger, and you can also take flay lays of outfits or selfies. Just send a photo of your inspired outfit to Salazar at 14shadesofgreyblog@gmail.com by Monday, March 21. Salazar will have the inspiration round-up on her blog, 14 Shades of Grey, the next day.
