Monthly budget adventures (February 2016)

I only went shopping once this month, during our combined anniversary + V-Day “day of fun” (as detailed here), but my budget adventures for February 2016 include two new items — including a surprise!

An eShakti surprise

Last month, I relayed the sad news that the white-and-silver plaid shirtdress I had ordered from eShakti was two sizes too big up top, so I had requested it to be remade. However, they had told me they were out of the fabric, so I would be credited back a refund. Then two weeks later, I received a surprise package from eShakti — with a remade version of the shirtdress! And thank goodness, it fits MUCH better, as you can see below in the before-and-after collage. I’m not pleased about the miscommunication, but I am pleased about now being able to enjoy this pretty, plaid shirtdress.

Brogues, not Oxfords

Earlier this week, I showcased my new pair of burgundy patent leather brogues — and my second pair of Clarks! Comfortable + classy. LOVE.

  • Burgundy patent leather brogues in “Hamble Oak” style, Clarks {exact}:  paid $49.50 (original price $120, on sale for $89.99 + extra Presidents’ Day sale of 2 pairs for $99 — the other pair of shoes was for Sam!)

Budget recap:

Total spent for this month: $49.50
Total savings for this month:  $70.50

Total spent for this year:  $82.47
Total savings for this year:  $283

Wow, that is a drastic differance of the fit of the dress – that’s great that they did end up being able to refit it for you because it’s adoreable and the fit looks great now! Those shoes thou, soooooo awesome and cute and they would work so perfect with that dress and just oooh, shoe lust.

Such a lovely comment, thank you, Katie! I admire your style and blog, so I’m so glad you stopped by mine!! Yes, I think the two items — the shoes and the shirtdress — would look good together, like for a combined ’40s vibe?
