Carnegie Library casual | Mixing light + colored denim

Today’s outfit is a casual outfit I wore while errand-running on the weekend, when we enjoyed lovely 60-degree weather and sunny skies.

I mixed light and colored denim together with my seamed denim jacket and colored jeans. No Canadian tuxedo here! 😉 I also went for a subtle ombre effect, starting with pale pink (earrings) to pink (scarf and lipstick) to berry (tank top) to purple (jeans).

During errand-running, we happened upon Multnomah County Library’s Title Wave Used Bookstore, located in a 1912 building that started out as a Carnegie Library to house the Albina Library branch. I thought this would be a great backdrop, especially because of its library history and because of its gorgeous Spanish Renaissance Revival architectural style.

Oooh, enjoy that fine weather Jen! Our temperature is about half of what yours is and we just got a ton of snow! I can’t imagine what tomorrow’s commute is going to be like, but I’m thankful that I have today off at least. 🙂

And that’s so awesome that you have a Carnegie Library near where you are! We have one too in our city and it’s just a block away from the library where I work! It was built in 1904 and served as our city’s library for 38 years before becoming an office space for a law firm in the 80s. It’s done in the Beaux Arts Classicism style and it adds a bit of flair to our fair city.

And that is a great backdrop for your photos! I love that architectural style too!

Such a fun location! There’s a Carnegie library in the town where my in-laws live that’s been turned into a restaurant called, fittingly, The Library. I have yet to eat there but it will happen soon, I know it!
