Grey stripes + red pencil skirt

Today’s outfit was inspired by this outfit from the Style On Target blog. I loved the grey + red color combo, and I immediately thought of pairing my grey striped tee with my new red pencil skirt, last seen here in my November 2015 budget post.

It’s also an outfit that’s perfect for Valentine’s Day — with the red pencil skirt and red lippie — but isn’t too sugary-sweet or over-the-top. 😀

I wore this outfit for a heavy teaching day, so I wanted to be comfortable but also professional. The flats and tee were comfortable and allowed me full range of motion — I tend to walk a lot around the room while teaching. I chose the red skirt, a classic pencil skirt, to add a professional edge to the tee. The finishing touch, of course, was my red L’Oreal Infallible lipstick!
