Black + cognac with red stripes + animal print

I love mixing black + cognac together! Adding brown tones to a black outfit warms up and brings a down-to-earth vibe to the black, right? You can see prior combinations of my mixing black + cognac here, here, and here.

I’ve paired this red striped sweater with black pants before, as seen here, along with black boots and a black-and-white scarf. This go-around, I went with my cognac boots, and my animal print scarf tied in with the boot color. I really liked how put-together this casual outfit turned out.

It’s been awhile since I’ve worn these black skinny jeans, last seen here, and I realized why when I wore this casual outfit to a friend’s book launch. These jeans are just a little too small now around the hips and waist. I have found black skinny jeans to be quite versatile — and this pair lasted more than three years! — so I will definitely need to find a replacement.
