A reminder that the “Wear to Where?” blog tour GIVEAWAY is open through Nov. 20!
It’s time for another Style Imitating Art (SIA) round-up! It was my turn to curate the challenge, and I’ve picked a mural from downtown Portland, “Capax Infiniti” (a phrase which means “Holding the Infinite” in Latin). Below are photos I took of the mural last year. The artist is a South-African muralist known as Faith 47, and you can read more about Faith 47 and her works on her website. You can view more photos of the “Capax Infiniti” mural here on the artist’s website and here on the Street Art News website. The mural was part of the 2014 Forest For The Trees Murals non-profit arts project.
First up is Michael, who chose a striped sweater for how its neutral tones went with the colors in the mural. And his signature background for SIA photos is perfect for this inspiration! 🙂
Next is SIA co-founder Salazar @ 14 Shades of Grey, in a sleek, modern look that captures all the colors in the inspiration mural.
Next up is Alison @ Nouveau North Westerners, who has moved to Switzerland (!) and is expecting twins (!!). She chose layers in shades of purple and green — and highlighted accessories from the Pacific Northwest (awwwwwww). So lovely to catch up with you, Alison!
Noelle @ The Classy Junk looks like the mural come to life in her floaty skirt and top with all the tiny buttons. And an infinity scarf! SO GENIUS.
Kezzie is back! Her outfit is ALL ABOUT the long skirt (I think it’s plaid?). Simple and sweet. 🙂
And, last but not least, my interpretation. You can see more photos, including close-ups of the obi-style tie belt and my accessories, here in my interpretation post from last week.
Next week, Jess @ Animated Cardigan will curate the next Style Imitating Art (SIA) challenge.
