SIA: Seasons

It’s time again for a Style Imitating Art (SIA) challenge! This week, Salazar @ 14 Shades of Grey is curating SIA, and she chose four (!) gorgeous paintings by Czech artist Alphonse Mucha (1860-1939). His distinctive style is very Art Nouveau, full of natural forms and flowing lines and color. In 1896, he did a series of four paintings collectively called “The Seasons.” I’m so glad Salazar chose the entire series rather than just one of the paintings!

Autumn - 1896 - Alphonse Mucha

Winter - 1896 - Alphonse Mucha

So many ways to interpret this challenge! You could pick one of the seasons, or go with different colors, or maybe just even go for the mood of the overall series.

How do you participate in SIA? Bloggers and non-bloggers, male and female, all are welcome to participate! Just take a pic of an outfit inspired by this week’s inspiration, and send the pic to this week’s curator, Salazar at by next Monday, Nov. 2. Salazar will then post the round-up on her blog, 14 Shades of Grey, the next morning.
