Fall term began this week, so you can expect a lot more work outfits coming up. But during my last bit of free time before fall term, I decided to try a new manicure. I was inspired by the recent “Your Style” issue of InStyle, which showcased a chevron manicure. I looked at the picture and thought, “I could do that!”
And here’s the final result of my own chevron manicure:
I chose chrome as the first layer:
Next came a deep burgundy:
And finally, I brushed on a copper color to finish the freehand chevron stripes:
Before the final clear top coat, I had to clean up the edges. No lie, this manicure took a bit of time, especially with all the drying time inbetween layers. It was also pretty messy and the chevron stripes are definitely not uniform, as I chose to freehand them instead of using circle snugs (as seen here). If I do a chevron manicure again, I will use the darkest color last, so as to prevent bleed-through around the edges.
But overall, I do like the end result!
I also gave myself a pedicure, using the deep burgundy color on my toes. I LOVE how the manicure and pedicure play off each other!
And last but not least, here are the polishes I used for this ready-for-fall chevron manicure:
So do y’all like the end result? Would you try a chevron manicure for fall?
