Lost and found

This past summer during my off-contract time, I worked on improving my blog. I resized all of my photos (which brought down storage totals and should lead to faster loading time) and added alt and title tags for accessibility. I also added more category headings on both the top and side navigation, as well as the ability to browse by color, pattern, and texture. You might have also noticed I streamlined my header graphic!

While going through all — yes, ALL — my past outfit photos for the last 3.5+ years, I noticed a few “lost outfits” that never made it to the blog. All of these are from summer and fall 2012 — better late than never, right? 😉

I actually used the picture above in a guest post about how to wear suit pieces in different ways, but this outfit itself proper never made it to my blog. And I would still wear this outfit, and slight variations, today!

Details:  Blazer, The Limited, old {similar from same brand} {very similar}  //  Striped tank top, Gap, old {very similar from same brand}  //  Denim skirt, old {similar}  //  Nude patent leather wedges, Payless, old {very similar} {very similar, open-toe option}  //  Navy skinny belt, Kohl’s, old {similar}

I wore a similar variation of this outfit, layering another gingham top and beige belt over shorts, that same summer. So that probably explains why I never posted this on the blog. I’ve also remixed this teal dress several times.

Details:  Orange gingham button-down, Old Navy, old {very similar}  //  Teal fit-and-flare dress, Chaps, old {similar} {similar}  //  Gold-and-tan t-strap sandals, Target, old {very similar}

I first put this outfit together as a work version of this outfit and inspiration. But I never really liked how it all came together, specifically the nude tank top. I should have worn a white tank top instead, but I never got it together enough to shoot photos of an alternative version.

Details:  Short-sleeved sweater, vintage, my dad’s {similar, in navy} {similar, v-neck style}  //  Taupe trousers, Woolworth’s, old {similar} {similar}  //  Bronze flats, no longer have {similar}  //  Bronze scarf, Kmart, old {similar}

I wonder if these photos and outfits now feel validated to be seen in public after all these years — like they’ve fulfilled their destiny? 😉 Are you glad I finally rediscovered these “lost” outfits? Please leave a comment and let me know!

    Love how you used a blazer in a more casual setting. I have a ton of pictures in my drafts (about 100 post) that may never make it to the blog. I look back at some of them and realized that they probably were never meant to be shared due to picture lightning or how I feel about the outfit. Glad you found these are shared them with us!

    Thank you for being a part of TBT Fashion link up and hope to see you Thursday.

      WOW, almost 100 posts in draft form?! That is a lot! Sometimes, I don’t particularly love my outfit, but I figure, hey if I wore it, it should go on the blog! It was kind of fun to go back through old photos and realize the ones that I had skipped over. 🙂
