SIA: The girl in the book

It’s Style Imitating Art (SIA) time again, and for this week’s challenge, Jess @ Animated Cardigan chose a gorgeous book sculpture, “The Girl in the Wood,” by Su Blackwell, a papercut artist from England. Jess came across her work in an issue of Entertainment Weekly! Blackwell uses the base of a real book and then builds sculptures and worlds based on those stories out of paper. Soooooooo cool! You can view more of Blackwell’s works on her website.

Such an interesting SIA choice — and perfect for a librarian! 😉

So how do you participate in SIA? It’s pretty straightforward — and bloggers and non-bloggers are both welcome to participate! Just send a pic of an outfit inspired by this week’s SIA choice to Jess at animatedcardigan [at] gmail.com by next Monday, September 7. Jess will post the SIA round-up shortly after on her blog, Animated Cardigan.
