SIA: The Green Cage

The next SIA (Style Imitating Art) challenge is here! This time, Salazar @ 14 Shades of Grey chose Richard E. Miller’s The Green Cage, c. 1910-1914. A reader emailed Salazar about this painting — it is a part of Akron Art Museum’s “Inside Out” program, which displays artworks in
public spaces around the city. Very cool!

More info about the painting here on the Akron Art Museum site. And there’s also a photo of the painting on location here.

A great choice for spring with the colors, and I like the domestic subject matter and the quiet concentration evident on the woman’s face.

So how do you participate in SIA? It’s open to all, bloggers and non-bloggers both. To participate, send a photo of an outfit inspired by this week’s SIA choice, and send it to the challenge curator, which this week is Salazar at 14shadesofgreyblog@gmail.com. Deadline is next Monday, May 18, and she will post the round-up on her blog shortly after.
