Going casual with a floral maxidress

Yesterday, I went fancy with a new floral maxidress courtesy of The Kewl Shop. As promised, today I’m going casual with the same maxidress! I’ve remixed maxidresses several times before — as seen here and here — so this felt natural for me to do. (Y’all know I love remixing in general, as well! Remixing = real life.) I’ve also remixed a previous piece from The Kewl Shop, as seen in this bandage dress day-to-night post.

For this floral maxidress, I kept some of the same accessories from my fancy look, including the same flat sandals and the same yellow bag. But adding the longer strap to the bag to go from a clutch to a crossbody bag made a big difference and made the look instantly more casual. I also went simple with the jewelry, with only a pair of topaz drop earrings.

Details:  Floral maxidress:  c/o The Kewl Shop {exact} {floral maxidress with crocheted neckline} //  Denim jacket:  Kohl’s, old {similar}  //  Yellow clutch:  c/o giveaway, Javo Edge {similar in a crocodile print} {yellow crossbody option with cool laser-cut pattern}  //  Gold-and-cream sandals:  Target, old {similar}  //  Topaz drop earrings:  Local boutique {very similar}

Layering a denim jacket on top of the maxidress also made a huge difference — and such an easy way to dress down a look!

You can see lots more pics of the entire dress in yesterday’s post, but I’ve put together some side-by-side collages to make it easier to compare the fancy vs. casual remixing of this gorgeous floral maxidress.

Thanks again to The Kewl Shop for this lovely floral maxidress. This dress feels so very me, and I know that I will enjoy remixing it many times in the future.

Full disclosure:  I received a dress of my choice from The Kewl Shop in exchange for a review. All opinions are 100% mine and 100% honest.

Linking up with these lovely ladies!

    Ah, I love this! Although your “fancy” styling is lovely too, there’s something about the juxtaposition of the floaty, floral skirt and the denim jacket that just works for me.
