Green + purple for St. Patrick’s Day

Happy St. Patrick’s Day!

It’s hard to tell, but I am actually wearing two shades of green in today’s outfit, which I wore on the weekend. Perfect to post for St. Patrick’s Day! The sweater is a dark forest green, although it photographs like brown or black. It’s one of the pieces I recently fashion-swapped from my friend Stephanie.

I set off the shades of green with a purple tank top, which I think really pops!

Details:  Green v-neck sweater:  Fashion-swapped from Stephanie, new {similar}  // Olive ankle pants:  Tommy Hilfiger via Macy’s, old {similar}  //  Purple tank top:  Old Navy, old {similar}  //  Leopard print flats:  Karen Scott via Macy’s {similar} {cool patent leather flats in black leopard print}  //  Earrings:  MOSS Handmade, Christmas gift from husband {similar from online shop}

This combination — a sweater + ankle pants + flats — has been my go-to outfit formula for casual days out and about recently. So easy! But to make myself feel pretty, I added these earrings that my husband gifted me this past Christmas. Statement earrings are such an easy way to instantly dress up an outfit!

While running errands in SE Portland, I spied this interesting building that had one side covered in tree limbs and vines. Impromptu photo shoot!

And yes, more evidence that I am a complete goofball. You’re welcome. 😀

Purple and green is not a color combination I wear that often, but I always like my outfits when I do!

      It’s true, it’s not a color combo I often pair — maybe because I don’t want to look like the Joker? — but I always get compliments when I do wear purple and green together. I especially like pairing mint with purple. I don’t look good in pastels, so I always try to pair pastels with a deeper, more saturated color.

    I love how you combined purple and green! I would have never put it together but it looks amazing! And I love how you goofed around in your pictures, that what I do! haha Thanks for linking up with us this week!

      Thanks, Alice! I don’t have that much green in my wardrobe (except for a few olive things, which I consider neutrals). I do love me some purple, though! I think you would look lovely in different shades of purple — perhaps a lilac or lavender?
