It’s time for another SIA (Style Imitating Art) round-up! Once again, my choice this time was a 1908 painting, “The Knitting Lesson,” by Swiss artist Ernest Biéler (1863-1948).
First up is SIA co-founder Salazar from 14 Shades of Grey. She looks absolutely lovely in her gingham top and floral scarf. So perfect for springtime. And y’all know I ♥ the pattern-mixing!
Longtime SIA participant Stephanie, my friend and colleague, brought props with her this time! She’s a knitter in real life, so this really was a perfect SIA choice for her. I loved how the more muted tones of navy and brown allowed the floral scarf and those awesome red ankle boots (!) to take center stage.
Grace from Living with A-Holts began her interpretation with an adorable knit hat and then added quite a few items that were either handmade or gifts from her family. I love those personal connections! (And those velvet flats.)
Next is SIA regular Erin from Loop Looks who looks great in her bright blazer and statement pearl necklace. Love this modern and sharp interpretation of the inspiration painting. A great day-to-night kind of outfit!
I’m so glad Lisa from The Somewhat Domestic Goddess was able to participate again! Her starting point was a polka-dotted chambray button-down, and I love the subtle pattern-mixing with the soft pink scarf.
And finally, there’s my interpretation, which I wore for a more casual work day. The starting point was my silk headband, and you can see closeups on my blog post yesterday.
Thanks to all the ladies for participating in this week’s SIA challenge! There was a nice mix of casual and dressier outfits — and so many interesting patterns and textures!
