Black + brown + boots

I like mixing black and brown together, which I always find easier than mixing black and navy. The trick is to make it look intentional. Also, it’s easier when one of the colors is in a print. Today, I kept the backdrop of my outfit simple with a black sweater, black tights, and black high-heeled boots. The brown came in from my thrifted tweed skirt. (The mix of black and brown was more obvious in real life than in pictures.)

I have been into layering necklaces lately, as seen in last week’s post. The long gold necklace is really perfect for layering, as it’s longer than most of my necklaces. I also like the mix of gold and bronze in these necklaces.

Thanks again to my friend and colleague Stephanie, who took these photos at the end of the work day.

Linking up with these lovely ladies!
