Black + white + pops of pink

Today’s outfit is SO simple, and once again, it’s all about a bold pattern doing all the work. I scooped up this black-and-white grid-print sweater on sale last month at JCPenney (sorry, it’s sold out online), and I am loving it. I got in a larger size, which I quite like. And the bold pink stripe down the sides and shoulders is a perfect pop of color — especially paired with my “Cherries in the Snow” lipstick!

Details:

  • Grid pattern sweater {sold out but here’s a similar option}:  JCPenney, gift-carded last month
  • Black ankle pants {similar}:  Banana Republic, thrifted last year
  • Black ballet flats {similar}:  Payless, old
  • Black metal hoops {similar} {silver + black metal option}:  Made in Oregon store, Christmas gift from in-laws a few years ago
  • Black and silver link bracelet {very similar}:  Thrifted at local resale boutique, last spring
  • Pink lipstick {exact}:  Revlon “Cherries in the Snow,” gift from my friend Stephanie

I wore this super-simple combo on a heavy teaching day, where I knew I needed to be comfortable. And I love how the grid pattern on this sweater echoes the ’80s, yet it’s still modern.

I love anything with a grid pattern but the stripe of red makes this even better! So fun that you remembered Kate wore the same dress I had. I figured I was the only one who knew that. Not going to lie, totally made me want to buy it even more. 🙂
