Polka dots, polka dots

I told you I’ve been experimenting with my hair, and here’s proof! Same hairstyle, but totally different look with the bangs swooped back.

My friend Stephanie took these pics. And she was also the one who suggested pairing this new pair of polka-dotted ankle pants with my polka-dotted blouse. Double polka dots — a bold choice — but she was right on target! I think it works because the polka dots on the blouse are larger on the bottom, which makes for a nice contrast with the tiny polka dots on the trousers.

And y’all know that I love me some pattern-mixing!

Details:  Light blue cardigan:  Gap, old {similar} /  Polka-dotted ruffled blouse:  eShakti, two springs ago {pretty pleated option} {similar option with white background} /  Polka-dotted ankle pants:  Dana Buchman for Kohl’s, this summer {exact and ON SALE}  /  Black flats:  Payless, old {similar} /  Silver circle earrings:  Lia Sophia, gift from my husband, old {very similar}  /  Lipstick:  Cherries in the Snow by Revlon, gift from Stephanie, new {exact}

And if this combo looks familiar, you’d be right! I have paired this light blue cardigan, an old favorite, with black-and-white printed tops and black trousers before, as seen here. And it works every.single.time. If it ain’t broke… 😉

    You know you who remind me of with your hair like this? Evie Elliot from ‘The House of Elliot’ in the later series. She wore her hair like this! Very pretty!x

      Oh, I LOVED the ‘House of Eliott’ series! And I can totally see the resemblance to the flapper hair Evie had in the later part of the series. I remember Evie experimenting a lot with headscarves and turbans and hair jewelry, too. You even inspired me to do some searching for Evie style, and I came across this awesome Pinterest board for the ‘House of Eliott’ here at http://www.pinterest.com/kauhe/the-house-of-elliot/ . 🙂
