Happy Monday! If you haven’t already, please consider stopping by and voting for your fave outfit of mine last month — just click here to vote in the poll. Thanks in advance!
For my entry in this week’s Style Imitating Art (SIA) challenge, curated by Jess @ Animated Cardigan, I focused on, no surprise, roses. @>—>—
If you’d like to participate in SIA — both bloggers and non-bloggers are welcome! — then there is still time! All you need to do is need a photo of an outfit inspired by this week’s SIA choice to this week’s curator, Jess, at email@example.com. Deadline is tonight, and then make sure you head over to Animated Cardigan for the sure-to-be-rosy round-up.
The roses I chose are on my tunic as well in our front garden patch. My husband, Sam, planted a rosebush at the beginning of summer, and we’ve been enjoying the blooms. “Gather ye rosebuds while ye may” INDEED. 😉
I also got close-ups of my jewelry, as you can’t see them that much in the full-outfit shots. The floral earrings have garnets in the center, and my ivy-covered bracelet boasts amber at its core. Perfect for the inspiration painting, right? 🙂
Details: Floral tunic: White House Black Market, thrifted at local resale boutique this spring / Khaki shorts: Kohl’s, gift-carded this winter / Black espadrille wedges: Banana Republic, old / Amber bracelet: Nature’s Jewelry, old / Flower silver earrings: Avon?, gift, old
I chose the backdrop of our front porch because of our fledgling rosebush, but the vertical lines of our iron trellises, as well as the ironwork on our neighbor’s side of the porch, also tie into the windows glimpsed in the background of the inspiration painting.
I’ve worn this floral tunic many times since I found it this spring at Here We Go Again, one of my favorite local resale boutiques. Here are a few more ways I’ve worn this comfy tunic, which I’ve paired so far with shorts, leggings, and skinny jeans and boots:
