I called this outfit “Safari Jen,” as this linen blazer/jacket always makes me think of safari style. I also completed the look with my safari-printed scarf (you can see the scarf print in its entirety here).
I wore this red dress + linen jacket combination to work, a day that included a dinner after work with the counseling faculty (the counselors and the librarians are in the same Faculty Senate district at my college). My friend Stephanie took a few photos before dinner, when I had my jacket sleeves rolled up. And then during dinner, I got a bit cold eating outside, and I rolled down the sleeves; I then forgot about the rolled-down sleeves when Sam took some extra photos after I got home. It’s those kind of details that I only catch AFTER taking photos, of course. Grrrrrrr. Not a huge deal, I know, but it still makes me cringe a bit seeing these photos.
Details: Linen jacket: Saks Off Fifth, Texas, old / Red dress: eShakti, new / Tortoiseshell wedges: Payless, last summer / Animal print scarf: Fashion-swapped, fall 2012 / Wood beaded earrings: Handmade by my paternal grandmother, vintage
One final detail: the tortoiseshell pattern of my patent leather wedges echoes the tortoiseshell pattern of the buttons on this blazer. OH YEAH. 😉
