The next Style Imitating Art (SIA) challenge is here, chosen by Salazar @ 14 Shades of Grey. This week’s inspiration is a little bit different, as Salazar didn’t choose just one piece, but rather the work of Dutch sculptor Peter Gentenaar. He creates floating paper sculptures made out of paper pulp and bamboo ribs. They are amazingly beautiful, with different colors and organic shapes. So the final inspiration is up to you — you could choose just one sculpture, or perhaps do a combination.
I put together a collage of some of his works, and you can see a collection of his works on this website.

There are lots of texture possibilities, like pleats or ruching — can’t wait to see what y’all come up! Wear whatever this collection of sculptures inspires in you, and send along your submissions to Salazar by next Monday, June 2. She will post a round-up shortly after. And remember, you don’t need to be a blogger to participate — all are welcome to join in the SIA fun! 🙂
