Thanks to everyone for the second-year blog anniversary wishes, and to all who participated in the $50 gift card giveaway!!! There were over 100 entries from over 40 participants. (Wow!) The lucky winner is revealed at the end of this post, FYI.
When I put together today’s outfit, I thought, “Haven’t I worn this before?” Turns out I haven’t, but I’ve remixed similar combinations, as seen here and here. Pairing this colorblocked cardigan with navy makes sense, but this is the first time I’ve paired it with my navy polka-dotted skirt. Wearing the cardigan all buttoned up makes for a simpler silhouette, one that colleagues said looked kind of ’50s retro. It’s a very simple outfit — cardigan + skirt + flats — but the colors and patterns together feel fresh to me.
Details: Colorblocked cardigan: Target, spring 2012 / Navy polka-dotted skirt: Lands’ End, gift-carded last spring / Crystal gold hoops: Local resale boutique, fall / Flats: Payless, last spring
For my hair, I kept it simple with a little side braid. This one involves a little twist, as seen here in this hair tutorial from Twist Me Pretty.
Now onto the giveaway! There were 102 comments — and therefore, entries — on the giveaway post, so I plugged that number into a random number generator (I use the one freely available online at Random.org). I then took a screenshot of the winning number/entry:
And without further ado, the winner of the $50 gift card giveaway is …
Congratulations, Amber! (I also find it hiLARious that your entry stating that you’re “in it to win it” did actually end up being the one chosen at random. Too funny!) Amber, I will be in touch soon via email.
Thank you again to everyone who participated! Your comments have truly touched me, and I feel very lucky to have such dedicated readers. You inspire me, and thank you for letting me know that I, even just a little bit, help inspire you.
