Giveaway reminder + SIA challenge

It’s time again for a Style Imitating Art challenge, but first I wanted to give a huge THANK YOU to everyone who has commented and entered the giveaway to celebrate my two-year blog anniversary. Your comments have truly made my week (a few even brought happy tears to my eyes!), and I am humbled and inspired by what you have shared. Thank you!

And there’s still time to enter to win a $50 gift card of your choice. All the details are here in this post, and the deadline is midnight tonight (Monday, April 14). The winner will be selected via a random number generator, and I will post the giveaway winner tomorrow (Tuesday, April 15).

And now onto SIA! It’s Salazar’s time to curate an SIA inspiration piece, and she chose a seasonally appropriate painting called “Spring Rain” by Russian-born French artist Erté.

It is very Art Deco, and very, very lovely. Lots of ways you could go with this one, including pattern-mixing florals, polka dots, and/or stripes (love how the rain drops are all horizontal lines). At first glance, it’s all purples and greens, but there are shades of orange, black, grey, and white in there, too. Quite an intriguing choice!

So how do you participate in SIA? It’s super-easy, and you don’t have to be a blogger to participate. Simply take a pic of an outfit inspired by this week’s SIA choice, and email Salazar (14shadesofgreyblog@gmail.com) by next Monday, April 21. Then check back either late Monday or early Tuesday for the SIA round-up on Salazar’s blog, 14 Shades of Grey.
