Y’all know I love me some metallic nail polish. Recently, I experimented with mixing different kinds of rose-tinted metallics for a self-mani/pedi: a soft pink shimmer on my fingernails and a darker mix of pink and metallics on my toenails.
(And yep, insert the usual “if you don’t like to look at pictures of feet, LOOK AWAY NOW” here. You’re welcome.)
…
For the fingernails, I brushed on one coat of the “Glass Pink” soft pink shimmery polish, topped with my new Seche Vita quick-dry top coat.
For the toes, I started with a base coat of a dark pink Wet n Wild polish in “Frosted Fuchsia” and then added two coats of the pink metallic “Sparked.” And of course, I added the Seche Vita on top of my pedicure, as well, to seal it all in. (If you’d like to see what the “Sparked” polish looks like all by itself, click here.)

Can I have a hands-up (or rather, nails-up?) for the new bottle of Seche Vite quick-dry clear top coat. Everything I’ve read about it is TRUE. It is awesome. It dries quickly and feels smooth. LOVE. And by the way, I took these photos a week into my mani/pedi, so that’s how well this top coat is holding up.

I love the colour on your toes! I’m really bad with nail varnish. I’m so bad at removing it!
Corinne x
I sometimes use lighter colors just because chips aren’t as obvious. And I have found that holding the nail polish remover on the nails for 30 seconds or so before trying to remove it works really well as a starting point to remove polish. 🙂
Oooh I have Sparked as well! And Glass Pink is so delicate and pretty – gotta get my hands on that one!
The “Glass Pink” is sooooooo pretty up close. It almost looks like regular nail color but with a little something extra special.
You have nice feet, especially when clad in ruby slipper polish!
Awwww, thanks, Kezzie. I love how you phrased that, “ruby slipper” — makes me feel like Dorothy! 🙂
Lovely colors! I LOVE all of the colors (and the price) of the Sinful Colors line, but they chip so quickly on me! How did you get it to last? If it’s the topcoat, I’m sold! 🙂
Hmmmm…. this is my first color from the Sinful Colors line, so I can’t really speak for the quality overall. But I haven’t had any problems with the longevity of the “Glass Pink” color. But I have found over the years that metallic polishes tend to last longer in general. I also always do two coats of the color plus the top coat, so that helps with my manicures lasting, I’m sure. And this Seche Vite top coat really is great, so I still highly recommend it! 🙂
Nice colors! I need a new bottle of Seche Vite, my polish has NOT been lasting at all since I ran out. Got some cheaper top coat and that was just a bad idea. haha
It is amazing how much difference a clear top coat makes. 🙂
Awesome toes!! SO SHINY AND SPARKLY!!
I agree with you that Seche Vite is a fantastic top coat! The only thing I don’t like about it is the shrinkage factor. I’ve recently switched to Glisten and Glow and although it doesn’t dry *quite* as quickly as SV, it doesn’t shrink. A gal can’t have it all, right? 😉
Hee hee, love your comment, Jennie! I do love the sparklies. 🙂
