Merry Christmas, y’all

This holiday-themed outfit — worn for a work day that included a holiday potluck — was inspired by this Style Up suggestion, below. Style Up, which I found out about from my blogger friend Erin @ Loop Looks, is a free service that emails a new outfit idea every night, complete with the weather forecast for the next day.

I liked the color combination of this look, which I recreated with my redyed burgundy ankle pants, a red Christmas t-shirt, and my tan blazer. I could have worn my nude patent leather wedges, or my patent tortoiseshell wedges to be more in keeping with the inspiration look — but (a) it’s cold, and (b) I can’t get enough of my flat-heeled boots. 😉

You might recognize the brooch, which was part of the name tag — and a free gift — from my first blogger get-together, the Pacific Northwest Bloggers holiday party (more about that event here and here).

And how fun is this t-shirt?! This shirt cracked up several of my colleagues, who exclaimed, “It’s so you!”

Merry Christmas, y’all! 😀

So cute! I never would have thought to pair red with burgundy like that. But it really works here because the pants have that little bit of red trim. Perfect outfit for a casual holiday party!
