First things first: Happy Thanksgiving to my American readers! This year is extra special for me and my husband, as it marks one year since we bought and moved into our first home. (Click here for last year’s “What we’re thankful for this year” post.)
And to help celebrate the holiday, I have a special two-fer this year! I have two looks featuring the same dress: one look is ready for work, and the second look is ready for a cozy Thanksgiving celebration. The dress is a silk Anthropologie print dress that I recently scored at a fall fashion swap.
Look #1: Ready for work
This silk dress is quite thin, so it will be a good choice for late spring and summer — but the print is also quite fall-appropriate. So recently for work, I layered the dress over a black foundation.
I am rounding out my “Take One, Pass It On” style challenge this month by remixing the geometric earrings featured in yesterday’s post. And my mom gave me an update on the origin of these earrings: decades ago, a family friend bought them on a trip to Cyprus as a gift to my mother. Never knew these were from Cyprus! 😀
Details: Print dress: Anthropologie, fall fashion swap / Leggings: ?, old / Turtleneck: ?, old / Black riding boots: Marc Fisher via Macy’s, this fall / Geometric earrings: My mom’s, vintage
Look #2: Ready for Thanksgiving
For the casual version, I added a cozy black sweater cardigan and switched out the boots for comfy flats. As is usual for a casual hairstyle at home, I swooped my hair up into an easy bun, secured with little clips.
An easy yet elegant look — with a forgiving silhouette that will be comfortable even after a second (or third… ) helping of Thanksgiving treats. 😉
Details: Black sweater cardigan: Maurice’s?, old / Sporty flats: Payless, two summers ago
So now you know what I wore for Thanksgiving. What did you wear? Please leave a comment and let me know. 🙂
