Cats and cognac boots

Another day, another remixing opportunity! This time for the “Take One, Pass It On” style challenge — and my “animal print” entry for Third Thursday Threads — I remixed the black skinny belt for a black-and-cognac accessory mash-up with my cat-print dress. I’ve been enjoying mixing black and cognac, like I did with what I wore to my first blogger party.

I got sooooo many compliments on my outfit today. The cat print attracts all kind of attention (as cats should). It was a heavy teaching day, and in my first class of the day, a student walked in, stopped, stamped her foot and exclaimed, “Oh my goodness, what are YOU doing looking so cute today?!” Hah! 😀

And, inspired by Gracey, I added my newly thrifted brooch to the outfit. It’s not much, but it felt like a big accessorizing step for me. 😉

In case you’re wondering, yes, it’s been raining a lot lately in Portland. It’s Portland.

And here’s what I’ve remixed this past week for the “Take One, Pass It On” style challenge over at Sarah’s Real Life. I started with the scarf, then remixed my black ankle pants and finally the black skinny belt.

Hah, yes, but this compliment came from a young college student! It must have been the “stamped her foot” phrase that I used that made it sound like it was coming from a smaller child — but no, a college student stamped her foot and shouted out her compliment. I’ll take compliments any way they come 😉
