Working the animal print

Before reading on, I’d sure appreciate if you’d take ten seconds to vote for your favorite outfit of mine during September. Thanks in advance! 🙂

This was my first outing wear my new animal print skirt — thrifted for $6, and it still had the original tags! — a skirt that my friend Amanda insisted I get while we were out thrifting together. (She has good taste — she was with me when I bought this thrifted skirt, too.)

I must have been channeling Erin of Loop Looks by pairing the skirt with a purple tank top. I tied in the purple with my pearl necklace, which has grey, champagne, and purple-y tones all mixed together.

While taking pictures after work, I realized that I actually had 3 animal prints going on — two of them as fabric linings, one in my navy blazer and the other in my coat. Animal print sneak attack!

This is a more dressed-up, feminine work look for me, and I realized that I tend to overdress when I’m not feeling so great mentally. It’s been a tough week, with the fall term kicking into gear, and dealing with so.much.stuff to do. So putting on a new animal print skirt + bright tank top (and feeling super-feminine + put-together) to psych myself up? I’ll take it. 😉

And of course I untucked that tank top toward the end of the day. So I thought it only fair to show both versions, with the tank top tucked in and out. I actually like it both ways, and the sliver of purple looks nice peeking out the back under my navy blazer.

And wow, my hair is getting long. I really need a trim soon — I think I’ve reached the maximum length that works for me before it starts looking all straggly. What do y’all think?
