Recently, my friend and fellow librarian, Heather, and I decided to dress up and go out for “classy cocktails.” So I decided it was a good opportunity to showcase what two librarians wore on a girls’ night out. (And yes, “classy cocktails” was actually the phrase I used to search on Yelp — and it worked! We went to the Driftwood Room in Portland, and it was fabulous.)
Here’s what I wore:
This was the first time I’d worn the dress since fixing the shoulder straps (see this post for more details on that), and success! And I paired the dress with my new yellow and black heels for a bit of pattern-mixing fun. I loved the effect — and it was fun to be 6’1″ in these 4-inch heels. 😉
I also had a fun idea for my bag. I could have gone safe with my standard black clutch (seen here), but at the last minute, I thought of my “Candid Confessions” book purse. And yes, it is made from an actual book and has leopard print fabric on the sides. There are also thin black straps, as seen here, but I just tucked those into the purse itself to make it into a clutch. It was the perfect size — and added a touch more whimsy to the outfit and also played off the yellow in my heels.
And here’s what we wore together:
It was fun to get all gussied up — and almost as much fun to take pictures together. 🙂 Heather’s a natural, isn’t she?
Shoe love! Bonjour.
