Hey there, changeable Portland weather! That’s the nature of the spring-to-summer transition up here in the Pacific Northwest, with bouts of rain and chill followed by sunshine to put a smile back on your face. The key is to layer items of clothing.
Casual look #1:
I wore this first casual look late last week on a day of shopping — armed with gift cards! — and dressed in layers (for the weather as well as for the fitting rooms). It felt unfussy and comfy, while large black hoops and bright pink lipstick helped elevate the casual vibe.
Details: Blue gingham shirt: Old Navy, gift-carded last spring / Black cardigan: Target, last summer / Jeans: Gap, old / Black sporty flats: Payless, last summer / Tote bag: Payless, winter / Black hoop earrings: Made in Oregon, Christmas gift from in-laws, 2011
Casual look #2:
I wore this second layered look on a recent day trip to the Japanese Garden (we’re members), as well as the nearby International Rose Test Garden.
Details: Plaid button-down: Old Navy, gift-carded last fall / Grey capris: Kohl’s, old / Light grey rain jacket: LOFT, old / Grey walking shoes: DSW, gift-carded this month (bought on the shopping trip mentioned above!) / Navy fedora: My husband’s, Zara, old
All you need is ♥. I love street art that has a positive message!
And tomorrow, I’ll post my budgeting breakdown for the month. Stay tuned!
