February 2013 retrospective

Here’s a quick look back through February. Why does the shortest month always feel like the longest one to me?!

Trying new things

This past month, I started making good on my self-imposed rule to only add new items to my wardrobe by using gift cards. And I was super-excited to put that promise to good use by trying out red pants!

This month, I was inspired by the “Take One, Pass It On” challenge started by Sarah’s Real Life and tried out the challenge for a week. It was so much fun!

Hair love

My hair seems to be enjoying the layers I got last month, and reacting well to this transitional weather we’re having right now in the Pacific Northwest. When possible, I’ve just been combing in some frizz-free product (Nexxus Frizz Defy styling creme) after showering and letting my hair air dry.

Pattern mixing

This month, I experimented with new ways to pattern-mix, like layering polka dots, pairing geometric prints and tweed, and trying more stripes on stripes.

Favorite look?

This look that I wore for a casual workday made me feel bright and cheerful:

And my favorite casual outfit was this scarf-and-cargo-vest combo:
