Printed + preppy

It’s the last Friday of the month, so that means it’s Copycat Friday! I had two inspirations in mind today, so I posed the question to my husband, “Preppy or ’50s preppy?” to help me decide which way to go. He chose the latter.

My inspiration for ’50s preppy? Audrey Hepburn, of course! 🙂

Inspiration:

Details: Ankle pants:  Ann Taylor, new and on sale  /  Turtleneck:  So basic, I don’t remember  /  Flats:  Payless, last spring  /  Black hoop earrings:  Made in Oregon, Christmas gift last year

I kept things very simple and basic to let the print have its moment. And these pants sure were a big hit at work! I even got some compliments that referenced Audrey Hepburn. Score! 😀

Happy Friday!

After putting this post together, I got busy catching up on some of my favorite style blogs. And wow, I was amazed at how similar my outfit today was to this recent “What to Wear: Sleek Office” post on EmilyStyle. Great minds think alike! 😉

Ah, yes, of course, Mary Tyler Moore! Gotta admit, I never thought I’d be one to go for ankle pants, as I’m on the taller side and rounder on the bottom half. But these pants from Ann Taylor are a nice, heavy weight so I didn’t feel too self-conscious about it. 🙂
