The first “Style Imitating Art” style challenge of the year features the work of Gustav Klimt. Sam and I were lucky enough to view several Klimt paintings during our trip to Vienna a few years ago. There are AMAZING details up close, with textures and layers in the paint itself.
I kept going back to this painting, but nothing was coming to mind with my own wardrobe. But then I came across this “poshmina” scarf (featured in “Summer” below) and immediately thought of this Klimt painting. I let my imagination (and imaginary budget) go wild on a series of Polyvore inspiration boards. I focused on pairing textures and patterns and geometric prints, flowy silhouettes, all topped off with a bronze-y glint.
