Librarian for Life + Style | Feeling stripey

When?  May 7, 2012

What for?  For a gloriously sunny day in the park and around our neighborhood (and yes, I’m that pale, and I don’t tan). Today I wanted to wear a combo of stripes and navy for the upcoming Everybody, Everywear style challenge (this month’s theme is nautical). So I brought out my new magenta-and-navy striped dress again (see here for a previous look with this lovely drop-waist dress), this time pairing it with a navy skinny belt, wedge sandals, striped scarf in shades of blue, and straw fedora with the navy band. I thought about wrapping the scarf around my hat, but decided instead to tie it in a bow around my vintage wicker bag. The wedge sandals I bought several years ago, and I loved the look so much that I snapped them up in black and brown, too. Oh, and in case you were wondering, we were playing Farkle in a bowl from our Yahtzee game. I won. 😉

Details?

  • Striped dress:  Kohl’s (new, gift card, shopping details here)
  • Skinny belt:  Kohl’s (new, gift card)

They’re so pretty… but definitely for a narrow foot. There are also some similar styles right now at Target, too, with the espradille wedge and rope details. 🙂
